Tim Messick

Is a retired botanist/cartographer/photographer living in Davis, California. He worked for 13 years as a field botanist, then 24 years as a graphic designer and map-maker with ICF (formerly Jones & Stokes Associates) in Sacramento, California. In recent years he has been updating “Plants of the Bodie Hills” (the mountains north of Mono Lake), which began as his MA thesis project in the early 1980s. He is an avid photographer of native plants, mountain and desert landscapes, and the peculiar things people build in remote places.
