Maria and Christian Schwarz are co-teaching our upcoming webinar series Forest Mushrooms of the Pacific Coast. We’re darn excited for this class and had the chance to join Maria for a pre-game Mushroom Hunt (AKA a stroll through our neighborhood forest). I asked Maria “Why Mushrooms? Why You?” Her answer was unexpected – Baking? Easter egg hunts? A candy shop? And forest pathology?

    This was a great interview. For me, as a non-professional mycologist/botanist, it compounded and expanded my long standing curiosity about the fungal world that I see through my camera lens. Can’t wait for the Webinar with Maria and Christian (whose book I have open on my desk as I write).
