SSMC (South Sound Mushroom Club) has use the previous book by Noah and Christian as our go to ID book. The long wait for Mushrooms of Cascadia has been worth the wait! What a fantastic job with lots of meaningful improvements and updates. I love the keyed groupings with thumbnails which is a helpful addition. The revamped Index is also well received.
My one wish is that they had included more waxicaps, but that is selfish. The hard work by SSMC to identify and sequence the Hygrocybe phaeococcinea (Devils Stool) would have made us smile in Olympia. The book does mention the species which is beyond other ID go to books.
Thanks guys for your fantastic accomplishment! I’m impressed……

I’ve been waiting for this for a long time! As comprehensive as it gets for our region with beautiful photos and detailed descriptions. Font is less attractive than the redwood coast release, but it’s larger and more readable for folks who are farsighted. Thank you for publishing this huge undertaking.
