Hike 14: Trinidad

Trinidad Head
Trinidad Head

The bucolic seaside village of Trinidad, the second smallest incorporated community in the state, is one of the county’s premier destinations. This hike cobbles various trails, streets, and beaches together into a hike with considerable variety and incredible scenery. It will take you through forests and neighborhoods and to several cliff-top vistas of the town, the coast, and offshore islands. Be prepared for strong winds on the headlands. The beaches may be impassable at high tide.

On April 23, I noticed that the access to Indian Beach from the old lighthouse was closed. I forgot to post this sooner. Any updates?

The described route to the Indian Beach Trail is currently closed. Detour around the lighthouse.

As of two days ago, Indian Beach Trail (mile 6.0) was officially closed due to a sinkhole but not barricaded and still in use.
