Straddling Highway 101 near the southern border of Humboldt County, Richardson Grove State Park is considered the “Gateway to the Redwood Empire.” This hike includes most of the park’s trails and showcases the redwood and mixed evergreen forests typical of Humboldt’s interior. The terrain is steep, and this hike, while not particularly long, provides quite a workout.
